I am a single mother of a child I adopted when he was enrolled in my therapeutic/academic program. After nearly two decades fighting the system as an employee I have decided to focus solely on advocacy. Knowing the ins and outs of the system enables me to fulfill my passion and need to encourage equality for children and their families. Failure is not an option when it comes to children, period. Advocating for students and parents is in my DNA. Please check out my consulting page to learn how I can help you and your child, even if your an educator and feel your back is against the wall when it comes to receiving the proper support for your student.
I’m a sister, daughter, friend, pug lover, baker, chocolate worshiper, NY Giants fan (don’t hate), shopaholic, and fundraiser. I love learning new cultures, anything pretty and sparkly, excursions with my friends and helping people.
Wow, 2015 started off with a bang as I was elected to be the Vice President of my local chapter of FCB (Florida Council of the Blind). I wanted to advocate so there’s nothing as good as jumping in head first hoping you don’t sink like the boulder or having lead weights tied to you and left for dead, sorry I come from New York and well you get it.
I enjoy fashion as long as it’s comfortable, make up oh how I love make up, and hair products. I have to admit that when I was working I could give Imelda Marcos a run for her money with my shoe collection. I’ve personally commissioned an artist to custom make at least 10 pair of shoes from high spiked heels, chunky heels, wedges, sneakers, and flip flops. Go ahead call me crazy because I do as I look back certainly not at the time of course.
Food need I say more? I love food not so much eating it but making great meals, appetizers and desserts for family and friends. In the last few years using my crock pots have become a hobby of mine, who doesn’t love to come home to a meal? I have a libraries worth of cook books and thousands more recipes on my iPad and phone. Chocolate did someone say CHOCOLATE? Sorry, but the stuff brings out the selfish gotta have it ALL in me since it’s my personal favorite at least to put into my stomach.
This is just a smidgen of who I am and what I want to explore with the world. Oh, and if you have great chocolate recipes send me a message or just mail me the goods! If I could only get a job as a chocolate recipe taster? Now that’s my dream job…
